INTRAOPERATIVE NEUROMONITORING

PROCEDURES & MODALITIES

With complex surgical procedures, it’s often helpful to have an extra pair of eyes.  That’s where we come into play. While you’re delivering the very best care to your patients, we’re there to lend a hand.  Our team performs IOM services for a variety of surgical procedures, helping you to focus on the welfare of your patients.

BENEFITS

Leading the Way in Establishing IOM as a Standard of Care

Our utmost concern is mitigating surgical risk and improving patient outcomes. Our experienced neuromonitoring team helps manage surgical risk by carefully monitoring neurological function during surgery. Following each case, a detailed case report is dictated and added to our electronic record system.

    UNEQUALED CARE, UNMATCHED CONTROL

    • A pre-operative review of pre-existing conditions, analysis of contraindications, and check of gross motor skills helps ensure the best care is delivered based on individual patient needs
    • Post-operative neurological function checks, collection of metrics not commonly aggregated by other IOM providers, and post-operative case audits ensure all the right data is gathered
    • The data we collect after surgery helps physicians assess long-term post-operative outcomes and lessens the likelihood of downstream re-admissions
    • Reports we generate, encrypt, and send to hospitals become part of patients’ records
    • We maintain audit trails for all our integrated data and calibrate our equipment quarterly, helping to ensure the highest standards of accuracy

        SURE, WE DO THAT, TOO…

The overwhelming majority of our technologists are CNIM Certified with academic backgrounds in the bio-sciences and/or neurosciences.

We helped found and continue to support North America’s only undergraduate program for intraoperative neuromonitoring studies.

We’re Joint Commission Accredited, so healthcare organizations can fully delegate credentialing, saving time, money, and effort.

We rely on state of the art monitoring equipment from Cadwell, which significantly reduces the likelihood of technical glitches in the OR.

        WE CALL IT

        CONFIDENCE IN COMMUNICATION

We strive to develop and maintain a positive rapport with each surgeon, typified by our goal to promote consistency in the OR by assigning technologists familiar to the surgical team. We also work hard to keep lines of communication open with the surgical team at various points during a procedure, even when nothing is wrong.

ALIGNED WITH THE GOALS OF MODERN HEALTHCARE

As an emerging standard of care, IOM is increasingly recognized as sound medicine. In addition to helping mitigate risk and improve surgical outcomes, IOM helps physicians and hospitals address healthcare’s “Triple Aim” by playing an active role in improving the experience of care for patients, improving the general health of populations, and reducing the per capita costs of healthcare. IOM provides another valuable tool that enables healthcare providers to focus on cost, quality, and care.
