FOOT & ANKLE SURGERY

If and when less invasive treatments are ineffective, MPOWERHealth’s Physician Network can call on specialists with training in proven surgical techniques to treat foot and ankle conditions. These options include:

 

  • Arthroscopy – Arthroscopy uses a very small camera s and other tools to view and treat several ankle conditions. These procedures can help alleviate pain while helping you regain your range of motion. Arthroscopy is often an outpatient procedure, meaning you won’t have to plan for a stay in the hospital and will be able to return home afterwards.
  • Bunionectomy – Bunions can lead to pain and difficulty in shoe wear and limit movement and mobility.  Repairing or removing this area of your toe will decrease pain and discomfort while helping you regain your mobility.
  • Minimally Invasive Foot Surgery – New techniques continually allow for smaller incisions and often quicker recovery times, allowing you to regain mobility and return to normal with less time spent convalescing.
  • Reconstruction of the forefoot and hindfoot – these procedures can help to realign and stabilize the foot and ankle, addressing issues caused by arthritis or the effects injuries and trauma.
  • Total Ankle Replacement – An artificial ankle joint may be recommended to address debilitating arthritis of the ankle joint, this artificial joint can help to reduce pain and discomfort while helping the patient regain mobility.

INJURY PREVENTION

Talk to your physician about how to prevent foot and ankle problems. Your physician will offer education, including exercise plans and footwear recommendations to help avoid later problems.
